They Also Ran Gallery

This exhibit predates the unsuccessful presidential bid of the area's favorite son, Bob Dole, whose 16 x 20-inch picture and biography now accompany those of numerous others whose highest aspirations were dashed by an unwilling electorate. This display in the mezzanine of the local bank was begun in 1965 by the bank's now-retired president, who was inspired by Irving Stone's book, "They Also Ran." Hours are 9 AM to 3 PM Monday through Friday and 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM on Saturday. Admission is free.
