Tinker’s Creek - a National Natural Landmark

Description

Tinker’s Creek is the largest tributary of the Cuyahoga River and drops a dramatic 220 feet over the course of two miles - cutting a steep, walled gorge. The gorge, declared a National Natural Landmark, is a unique area with numerous tree, shrub, and flower species. The Tinker’s Creek Gorge Scenic Overlook offers a spectacular view throughout the changing seasons.

Tinker’s Creek, which flows through Cleveland Metroparks Bedford Reservation, is named after Joseph Tinker, the principal boatman for Moses Cleaveland's survey crew. To get there - take Tinkers Creek Road east from the Canal Road section of the America’s Byway to reach the Bedford Reservation.
