Toronto City Hall

Description

Opened in 1965, this building is a landmark of contemporary design and a source of pride for the city of Toronto. The huge forecourt, Nathan Phillips Square, is home to art shows, brass bands, and the annual New Year's Eve celebration. Skaters skim the frozen reflecting pool in the winter. The structure is a symbol of Toronto's coming of age as a city of international stature.
