UC Botanical Garden & Lawrence Hall of Science

Up the hill from the main UC-Berkeley campus, on Centennial Drive, are two delightful satellites of the university: the Botanical Garden and Lawrence Hall of Science. As you stroll the Botanical Garden paths, you'll enjoy a variety of different garden themes, such as a New World Desert, Chinese medicinal herb garden, and orchid, fern and carnivorous plant house. Visit the Garden daily from 9 AM to 5 PM; closed on the first Tuesday of every month, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Day, New Year's Eve and Day, and Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Lawrence Hall of Science (LHS) sits near the crest of the hill. Outdoors there's a panoramic view over the bay. Indoors, lose yourself in excellent exhibits and learning experiences designed to show that science is something everyone can do and enjoy. Check out the Earthquake Exhibit including a working seismic recorder and play the world's most popular games at Math Around the World. LHS is open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM.
