Vermillion Castle/Yankee Meadow Reservoir

Description

Vermillion Castle, named for its bright red castle-like cliff formations, offers visitors an opportunity to drive and hike through a variety of geologic formations before opening up to a lush meadow below Yankee Meadow Reservoir, a popular year-round fishing spot. There are a number of mountain hiking trails that lead to stunning views including a mountain-top formation called Noah’s Ark and the Grand Castle formations. A series of trails above the reservoir link to the resort town of Brian Head. The area is part of the Dixie National Forest which includes several campgrounds.
