Watkins Glen State Park

Over the centuries, water carved the gorge that makes this park’s scenery so enchanting. The 2-mile Gorge Trail descends some 400 feet and follows a stream past 200-foot cliffs and 19 waterfalls, some so close you feel their spray. Follow the trail out and back on foot from the main entrance or take the $5 shuttle (summer only) to the upper entrance and walk back down to the main one. To see the gorge from above, follow the Indian or South Rim trails along its forested rim. The park also has a seasonal campground with rustic cabins and tent and RV sites.
