Weathertop Wovens

Description

Weavers Gary and Linda Davis offer jackets, shawls, scarves, and ruanas (a sort of Irish poncho), woven in their shop by hand from colorfast 100-percent-cotton thread. Visitors can often find one or both of them at the looms, weaving to produce the cloth for their Celtic-inspired designs. One of the looms features a flying shuttle, a thick wooden peg that, attached to the thread in use, flies from one side of the loom to the other on a smooth ledge and allows the weaver to work very quickly. Also available for sale are silver Celtic-inspired brooches, designed to be worn with much of the shop's clothing. Prices here range from $50 to $200. Weathertop Wovens is open year-round from 10 AM-5 PM.
