Wildlife Prairie State Park

Description

This unique 2,000-acre state park features native Illinois animals such as bison, elk, wolves, black bear, cougar, river otter, waterfowl and raptors, as well as various songbirds, butterflies and other native species. Stop by the Park's Visitor Center and see their Animal Nursery and Museum. View the Park from several spotting scopes. Join the Naturalists at various interpretive programs. Ride the Park's train through restored Prairie Habitat, or hike 10 miles of trail. Visit the Pioneer Farmstead Area. Eat at the Prairie View Café, Train Depot or Sunday Brunch.The Park also offers several unique lodging facilities, including the Cabin on the Hill, Cottages by the Lake, Prairie Stables and Santa Fe Train Cabooses.
