Withrow Springs State Park

Description

Withrow Springs State Park is nestled in the Ozark Mountains in northwest Arkansas, about 20 miles north of the Ozark National Forest. The War Eagle Creek, which borders the park, is well stocked with catfish, perch and bass. Canoe rentals are available to spend a quiet day on the water. Any fishing requires an Arkansas state fishing license. Camping and swimming are also popular here. The park offers individual and group campsites beside a cave from which a spring flows. Amenities include restrooms, showers and a dump station. Handicapped-accessible sites are available. Reservations are recommended for all campsites. For recreation the park has tennis courts, a playing field suitable for baseball or softball, hiking trails that lead you along the winding ravines and ridges, and, uniquely, a crossbow range. The park also has a play area, picnic sites and pavilions, a gift shop and a concession stand. Pets: Leashed pets are permitted.
