Woodlawn Museum, Gardens & Park (The Black House)

The Woodlawn Museum, or the Black House, serves as a testament to the accomplishments of Colonel John Black. Located a quarter-mile from downtown Ellsworth, visitors can enjoy the 180-acre estate by exploring the gardens, walking paths, a tournament-sized croquet court, and cross-country skiing trails. Every August, the Ellsworth Antiques Show is held at the Black House estate. The Woodlawn Museum estate also holds a farmer's market every Sunday.
