Description

Wildlife will be plentiful, cars and roads will not on this ferry tour of Seward and Unalaska. Start your trip by following the Aleutian archipelago "handle" into yesterday, as you cross the International Dateline. From Anchorage via the Alaskan Railroad access Seward, where you are likely to see bald eagles and whales. While in Seward take one of the short cruises or "flightseeing" (sightseeing by flight) trips. Next, hop on the Alaska Marine Highway System ferry for the 90-mile trip to Kodiak where you can enjoy picnics and outdoor recreation. Active volcanoes will be abundant at your last stop on the trip, the Unalaska/Dutch Harbor that sits the eastern end of the Aleutian Islands, stretching more than 1,500 miles toward Asia.
