Description

Architecture buffs will find plenty of exciting stuff in central Oklahoma, a place where time marches on without trampling too hard on spectacular old neighborhoods and buildings. In Guthrie, capital of the Oklahoma Territory at the turn of the century, visitors will find a fabulous feast of Victorian gingerbread covering 400 city blocks, as well as the state's single largest concentration of bed-and-breakfasts. Just two hours away is Tulsa, the city with the fourth-largest concentration of Art Deco buildings in the United States, and lots of lavish oil-boom-era homes. Visitors can take organized or self-guided tours in both places, though advance arrangements are necessary for guided tours in Tulsa.
