Description

Embark upon this trip that traverses Arkansas from El Dorado in the south to Harrison near the Missouri border. Visit Poison Spring Monument State Park, the site of a Civil War battle. Next, drive through the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains in the town of Arkadelphia. Farther along at Hot Springs National Park, enjoy 47 natural thermal springs bubbling up at 143 degrees Fahrenheit. Head north on Route 7 to the other side of the mountains, where you'll cross the Arkansas River, and continue northward. Enter the Ozark National Forest, where views include waterfalls, lakes, caverns, and gorges. You'll end your tour in Harrison, coined "The Crossroads of the Ozarks," for its central location between Little Rock and the Ozark areas around Eureka Springs and Branson, Missouri.
