Description

Add a Scottish twist to your average June weekend by attending international Highland dance, bagpipe, and drum competitions. The Highland Gathering at the College of Piping and Celtic Performing Arts will put an extra bounce in your step and kick off your visit to enchanting Prince Edward Island. Spend some time in the tiny villages nearby visiting the llamas and checking out local galleries. The white sand beaches, dunes and towering cliffs of the Prince Edward Island National Park beckon swimmers and strollers. You'll want to spend at least one morning exploring the footpaths. Get "unconnected" at Dalvay-by-the-Sea -- a lovely turn-of-the-century resort hotel that lives up to its romantic name. The unique Acadian spirit that pervades the island is contagious -- you'll want to become a part of it. Be forewarned, bridge and ferry tolls are paid only on departure, "only if you decide to leave."
