Description

Laramie is lucky to still be here. This one-time boom town flowered when the railroad came through. A rough and tumble place at first, the local ladies' decency committee got together with town leaders and "persuaded" the disreputable element to leave town. The rest of the good folks took a look around at what was left, decided the fun was over, and left town, too. If it weren't for the establishment of the University of Wyoming in 1886, you might be looking at another ghost town today. So, what you have here is the unlikely combination of a Wild West college town. With its history, entertainment, and a nifty art collection, it turns out to be a pretty good place to spend the day.
