Rich with historical and natural wonders, North Carolina ia a treasure trove for travelers. From the coastal Outer Banks in the east to the Great Smoky and Blue Ridge Mountains in the west, North Carolina offers just about anything you'd want to do. Besides its rural wonders, the state is home to three dynamic cities: Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill. These cities nestled in central North Carolina form what people commonly call "The Triangle" (or sometimes "Research Triangle" because of the high density of science research facilities in the area). This weekend tour will guide you and your family to fun-filled and interesting attractions in each of these cities. Their close proximity makes travelling between them a cinch, and you'll get to enjoy the distinctive flavor of all three. Start your visit in whichever city you choose and just mosey around The Triangle at your own pace. Each city probably deserves at least one day of leisurely exploration to do it justice.
