Description

It probably started with conflicts among the various Indian tribes. It became part of written history as Native Americans tried to protect their homeland from the invading pioneers. It broke out with a war between cattle ranchers and farmers. It continued as a battle between lawmen and those pesky cattle rustlers and train robbers. For whatever reason, violence and bloodshed have repeatedly punctuated the history of Johnson County, in north central Wyoming. From the Indian Wars, to the Cattle Wars, to the legendary getaways of Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch, the beautiful land in the Big Horn Mountain Country has seen a lot of shooting. Spend a day here, or a week, and you too can begin to see a little bit of what it was all about.
