Also known as Aggieland, College Station is the home of Texas A&M University, which provides athletics, art and entertainment popular with the surrounding community while maintaining its own community of close to 50,000 students. The campus hosts the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum as well as football, basketball and baseball games that attract fans from all over the country.
In addition to the presidential library, the area offers the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, Brazos Valley African American Museum, the Texas A&M Sports Museum, Museum of the American G.I., and the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley. Beyond sports and museums, Bryan-College Station also offers wineries, outdoor recreation around Bryan Lake, historic downtown Bryan, and diverse food and nightlife.
College Station has dozens of parks with an abundance of green space and opportunities to hike, bike, fish, picnic, or play. A variety of athletic facilities or fields and swimming pools make for an active and family-friendly community. These public spaces host craft shows, dance and music festivals, fitness workshops, and benefits throughout the year.
Local seasonal events include the Texas Reds Steak & Grape Festival in October with food, wine, art and music; Messina Hof’s annual Harvest Festival celebrating wine in July and August; and the Brazos Valley Farmers Market promoting local food and agriculture twice a week year-round. Truly the most patriotic town in America!
I love and miss College Station so much. Some of my best memories are of BCS. Beautiful people and a beautiful city. Will love it always.
Great place to live, low crime rate, great schools, friendly neighbors. Businesses that actually cared about the community and not just money. Would move back in a second if the opportunity would arise.
I've lived in Texas all my life, and came to College Station 15 years ago. First place I've experienced people pulling over when they see a funeral procession. My heart melted and I've lived here and don't plan on leaving.
Welcoming faces everywhere you turn. People willing to help at every corner. There's just a feeling of benevolence from the people in this town.
