Small town with it's own Michelin Star restaurant! Great places to eat and visit -- outdoor restaurants for the great weather.

The best kept secret in the state of California is San Mateo. It's a gem. We have everything. The best food can be found here. San Mateo is the hub of the peninsula where people can gather and have great food and good company. I won't mention my favorite restaurant because there are so many of them. On the subject of food we have Draeger's Market and Piazza's Market that have the best deli's around. It's no wonder that people who move here don't want to leave.

San Mateo has the best of everything: location, natural geography, food, and people. (Especially food). I had friends visiting from LA who couldn't get enough of the places I showed them. They kept telling me that I have to bring them food from home if I ever visit them down South. Just goes to show that small cities, specifically San Mateo, can out-do any type of large cities, including those as diverse and large as LA.
