Also known as Aggieland, College Station is the home of Texas A&M University, which provides athletics, art and entertainment popular with the surrounding community while maintaining its own community of close to 50,000 students. The campus hosts the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum as well as football, basketball and baseball games that attract fans from all over the country.

In addition to the presidential library, the area offers the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, Brazos Valley African American Museum, the Texas A&M Sports Museum, Museum of the American G.I., and the Children’s Museum of the Brazos Valley. Beyond sports and museums, Bryan-College Station also offers wineries, outdoor recreation around Bryan Lake, historic downtown Bryan, and diverse food and nightlife.

College Station has dozens of parks with an abundance of green space and opportunities to hike, bike, fish, picnic, or play. A variety of athletic facilities or fields and swimming pools make for an active and family-friendly community. These public spaces host craft shows, dance and music festivals, fitness workshops, and benefits throughout the year.

Local seasonal events include the Texas Reds Steak & Grape Festival in October with food, wine, art and music; Messina Hof’s annual Harvest Festival celebrating wine in July and August; and the Brazos Valley Farmers Market promoting local food and agriculture twice a week year-round. I have chosen College Station as my home because there is no other place like it. You have the small town feeling with big town amenities.

I grew up in west Texas and my parents still have a lovely house there, but College Station will always be my "home." There is no place like it!

I have been in the College Station area for 47 years and have traveled to many other cities around the country and I have not said to myself that I would rather live anywhere else. College Station is genuinely the friendliest Town in America.
