Rapid City, SD hosts both Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, two must-see national landmarks. The town is as beautiful as it is patriotic, surrounded by the Black Hills, and is the home of Ellsworth AFB.

For a combination of history and beauty take in the scenery on Skyline Drive and visit the Berlin Wall exhibit, the Chapel in the Hills, the Badlands, and bronze statues of all of America’s presidents.

Visitors should take advantage of Downtown Rapid City. In addition to shopping and dining, the area is the Black Hills’ hub for local and regional art. Museums, numerous galleries, and a historic theatre are all located within a few blocks of each other downtown.

Rapid City has the best of both worlds - a big city feel mixed with the quoint small town vibe. While tourist flock to Rapid City to visit the monumental Mount Rushmore, they soon find there is much more to discover. The historic downtown area is rich in history and culture.

It's beauty that captures your attention; personality which captures your heart.--Anonymous Come and experience the beauty and personality of Rapid City for yourself. I think you'll find both equally attractive.

It's the "City of Presidents" located at the gateway to the beautiful Black Hills and nearby Mount Rushmore. The entire area is so beautiful, and Rapid City is the perfect little city to base out of and see nearby national and state parks and monuments. There's a lot of history here and a very strong sense of patriotism.
