Rapid City, SD hosts both Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, two must-see national landmarks. The town is as beautiful as it is patriotic, surrounded by the Black Hills, and is the home of Ellsworth AFB.

For a combination of history and beauty take in the scenery on Skyline Drive and visit the Berlin Wall exhibit, the Chapel in the Hills, the Badlands, and bronze statues of all of America’s presidents.

Visitors should take advantage of Downtown Rapid City. In addition to shopping and dining, the area is the Black Hills’ hub for local and regional art. Museums, numerous galleries, and a historic theatre are all located within a few blocks of each other downtown.

Rapid City is a wonderful community to work, raise a family and do business. Our city is located in the beautiful Black Hills in which we celebrate our cultural diversity and rich traditions and are excited about our booming business environment.

Rapid City and surrounding areas are so beautiful. The crossroads to Mt. Rushmore. Activities galore, boating, hiking, camping. Love it there...

Rapid City has some wonderfully diverse cultures with Ellsworth AFB, The School of Mines and Technology and the people that were born and raised in the Black Hills area! Everyone feels welcome! There's so much history with the Presidents down town and Mt. Rushmore up the road, along with the Black Hills and the mining. Oh, I can't forget the dining, arts and entertainment are pretty great too (our Civic Center Rocks)! I really can't choose one catagory that represents Rapid City - it's just a great place to visit and live!

Rapid City is not only the gateway to the beautiful Black Hills and the awe inspiring Mt. Rushmore, but also the home of the exceptional sculptures of our great presidents. A mapped walking tour through the lovely downtown boulevards will allow you to see these works up close. Now that spring is in the air it's fun to see folks once again pausing for photo ops with our great national leaders.
