Kewanee is a great hometown! There are wonderfully unique places to shop, like Heartfelt Gifts, Johnson's, Brandy's Hallmark, and so many others. You can't beat a delicious homemade meal at P.L. Damron's. When you go to these places of business you receive personal care and leave feeling like family. The Walldog murals have added a new appreciation for local history to our downtown area. One can add to the experience by visiting the Fred Francis Home, Ryan's round barn, Windmont Park, and other points of interest. Be sure to pick up one of the books that explains the murals. They are only $1 and available at Heartfelt Gifts. Of course, you can't leave town without one of Breedlove's great Hog Days shirts and maybe one of the special design shirts created by Lynette Nuding to benefit the Animal Shelter. And, to complete your wardrobe, a Walldogs shirt too. Kewanee is also home to many warm, welcoming churches. We have Kewanee, Wethersfield and Visitation schools. Great places to learn. The parks are another special feature of our town. There is golfing, swimming, disk golf, hiking, fishing, and plenty of beautiful shady areas for picnics. And the kids will love the playgrounds. The summer concerts in the park are a special treat. But Kewanee has special musical events all year round. The community is rich with talent and folks more than willing to share their musical gifts for the enjoyment of all. As I said before, Kewanee is a great home town!

Jazz on the Side just performed on the stage next to a couple of the beautiful Walldogs murals in downtown Kewanee. The Hog Days organizers went out of their way to accommodate us and make us feel welcome and appreciated. We can't wait to come back!

I have worked in Kewanee for 15 years... The town is friendly and offers a unique experience. Enjoy Good's Wine Cellar for lunch... the downtown shopping is good... bed and breakfast at Good's... Hog Days over Labor Day weekend is a big deal. The walls of the down now sport 15 new murals from the Walldog's visit this summer... come see for yourself...
