Rapid City, SD hosts both Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, two must-see national landmarks. The town is as beautiful as it is patriotic, surrounded by the Black Hills, and is the home of Ellsworth AFB.

For a combination of history and beauty take in the scenery on Skyline Drive and visit the Berlin Wall exhibit, the Chapel in the Hills, the Badlands, and bronze statues of all of America’s presidents.

Visitors should take advantage of Downtown Rapid City. In addition to shopping and dining, the area is the Black Hills’ hub for local and regional art. Museums, numerous galleries, and a historic theatre are all located within a few blocks of each other downtown.

We are fortunate to live in the beautiful Black Hills. It has some of the most beautiful scenery in the country; the rolling hills, lakes, wildflowers, wildlife, and people.

It has such diversity everywhere you look from its historical downtown dotted with bronze statues of our Presidents, to expansive views of the prairie to wonderful vistas of the Black Hills.

What a pleasant surprise this was. We landed at the delightful airport and went to our hotel and spent the entire day walking through this beautiful town. All the residents were friendly and welcoming to us and we felt right at home. I'd even consider moving here. Don't miss shopping at the Prairie Edge Trading Co. & Galleries, and visit the Journey Museum and Dahl Arts Center. I don't usually visit animal parks but I really did enjoy the Bear Country USA. Make sure you drive up the hill to see the dinosaur.

Rapid City is small enough for that "home-town" feel but so much to do in the area...I have lived here most of my adult life and consider it home~ The area is rich in culture and beauty~
