Located in San Francisco Bay, the city of Vacaville (sometimes called “Golden Hills”) is about halfway between Sacramento and San Francisco. For tourists, there is plenty to do in this sunny spot. The city holds yearly Vacaville Fiesta Days, which boasts a parade with the local schools’ marching bands, gymnasts, and an electric car showcase.

For more family-friendliness, kids will enjoy The Nut Tree, which is home to a train for children and a life-size checkerboard, with plenty of dining and shopping options for adults. And for the shopping enthusiasts, visitors can visit the Vacaville Premium Outlets for bargains in 120 stores.

Don’t miss Downtown Vacaville, which offers a seasonal farmer’s market, a playground, top-notch dining, and Creekwalk–a venue which often holds concert series.

Christmas-time is a big celebration in Vacaville. The city has an annual Festival of Trees in its local ice-skating rink. Vacaville residents hold the Tree Lighting Ceremony, and enjoy music, hot chocolate, and horse-drawn carriage rides.

For recreation, Lagoon Valley Lake and the Pena Adobe Regional Park are great for fishing, hiking, or just getting some fresh air and beautiful views.

I have lived in Vacaville since 1967, and I Love this town. There is always something to do, including incredible shopping, numerous events in the downtown district, and great restaurants...I have seen this town grow dramatically, but yet it has maintained its small town feel.

I love Vacaville! There are so many great activities throughout the year especially involving live music which I am all about. The people are also very friendly and laid back.

Love my town. Lots for the family to do, nice parks, safe neighborhoods and good schools. and a lovely downtown. Music is abundant downtown, a nice stroll where you always see someone you know. Small enough to feel Small-town, large enough that everyone doesn't know your business.
