Description

Pacifica, CA hosts parks and beaches with coastal, mountainous views and noteworthy sunsets. Only 20 minutes outside of San Francisco, the city cherishes its smaller town feel so close to the city.

Visitors love Rockaway Beach, the Pacifica Pier, Pedro Point, and Skyline Blvd. It’s also home to Frontierland Park, San Pedro County Park, and Mori Point. Linda Mar State Beach is a favorite destination with adventure-seekers interested in surfing, hiking, and biking.

Each year, Pacifica hosts the Pacific Coast Fog Festival during the last Saturday and Sunday of September. The festival offers a hometown parade, plenty of activities for children, and a variety of local artists, vendors, and performers.

You can explore the town using the free Gold Line Shuttle and stop by the Sanchez Art Center, Coastside Farmer’s Market, or Pacifica Skate Park. Be sure to see Portola’s Statue and capture the hills, mountains, and ocean on film.

Best little city next to SF--a wonderful family community with cool costal weather year round.

Pacifica is the only Bay Area town were, when visiting, you can actually stay in a lovely hotel actually on the coast. The views are stunning from myriad perspectives, the hills green almost all year, and the people down-to-earth and wonderful. We have terrific places to grab a bite to eat from Nona's to Columbo's to Sonny's to the Gorilla BBQ and more. And our local organic, community garden and volunteer-tended beaches are amazing.

Reminiscent of Big Sur, where the mountains meet the ocean. Hiking trails, beaches and all neighborhoods are separated by protected open space. The Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) provides bluff-top hiking. Temperate weather all year long and lots of sun back in the valleys of the different neighborhoods.

Pacifica is surrounded by the most lovely mountains that thankfully have been preserved as open space guaranteeing future generations will be able to enjoy the hiking and views afforded from them. Hiking abounds, including Sweeney Ridge from which the Portola Expedition sited the magnificent San Francisco Bay in 1769. Six miles of coastline offer opportunity for parasailing from bluffs, fishing and crabbing at the pier, surfing, and gazing. The natural beauty of wildflowers in the spring, bands of pelicans in the air, big waves in the winter are just a few of the delights. Pacifica is an active community with performances presented at the Mildred Owen Concert Hall, plays conducted by Pacifica Spindrift Players, a developed art scene. There are a variety of parks, many aquatic programs and a strong senior community.
