I've lived here since 1998 and I love it here. Lots of great places to hike or go bike riding. Wonderful camping sites around Canyon Ferry Lake. Lots of wonderful photo ops. too.

I walked through this town on a cross-country walk last summer. Even though it was raining when we passed through, I could automatically see Helena's beauty as we walked down from MacDonald Pass. It's lush, green aura sets in perfectly with the town while the Rockies surround the outer rim of the city. To top off the beauty of this place, St. Helena Cathedral is the high point of the city, adding not only a spiritual peace, a romance to the city's ambiance. Unfortunately, we didn't stop to eat in the city. But the weather in Montana is almost always pleasant, it just wasn't so nice that morning. Also, the townspeople were very friendly to us as we walked through. Two thumbs up for Helena! The Big Sky doesn' t disappoint!
