I was invited to paint one of the Murals at the recent Kewanee Walldog event and really enjoyed spending time there. My wife and I have visited Kewanee on several occasions before and after the Walldog event and look forward to our next visit. I have been involved with the Walldogs for over 10 years and have painted in several States, and found Kewanee to be one of the friendliest towns we have visited. The community opened their doors and hearts to over 200 mural artists and made us feel very welcome! We've made some great friends in Kewanee and hope to share more great times there in the very near future.

Have lived and worked in Kewanee and retired here, choosing it over Orlando, Florida. Very friendly people with opportunities to engage in physical activities as well as cultural, social and religious. Too much to do!

Please ignore the review, 2 previous. None of those statements or figures are true, but I supposed every town has malcontents trying to disrupt the fun and efforts of hardworking people. It is true that Kewanee is not a wealthy town, but with that, we still try to maintain a spirit of friendship, and are very welcoming to visitors. We were, just this summer, hosts to over 250 international artists as part of the 20th annual Walldogs meet. They left our town happy, and left our walls beautiful. Why someone would come on a site like this, merely to disrespect and disrupt the efforts of hardworking and well-meaning citizens, I'll never know. But this effort, as well as the Walldogs meet, truly show what happens when a community comes together, no matter what their means in this world may be. Money can't buy love, and often destroys friendship, but community-togetherness builds friendship. I do reach out to that poster, if he'd rather help to build his community, behind-the-scenes or in public, rather than griping and disrupting the efforts of others, anonymously from a keyboard. If he wishes to continue the debate, here is not the place, please email me at Topix seem to be the place to post slander, this venerable contest is not. Go Kewanee!

I have lived in Kewanee for 2 years now and everywhere I go folks are saying hi and there is still that old fashion courtesy of gentlemen opening doors for ladies. Love that old tradition.

Kewanee is my kind of place, it's going hog-wild with hostess with the mostess good cheer this weekend! It's going to definitely be the hot spot in the Midwest!
