Well, i've been in Jonesborough for just over 4 weeks, new job , new move, and i must say there is no place on earth like it! NO place that oozes such community spirit as warm as this place. No place where stories of community welcome, diversity, courage and love for neighbors. Jonesborough ipatriotic in that way it goes far beyond than just showing the flag once or twice a year. instead the people of this town live out the values of that flag in their daily lives, through interactions with others and through its welcome to anyone who visits 365 days of the year! Love it. :-) Kiran.

I grew up here and after moving away for college and then living in Louisville and Washington DC for over 5 years we were ready for a change, Jonesborough was a great fit for my husband and I. Everyone knows everyone and when you walk the dog you never know who you will see or run into! It is a great community to be apart of!

After growing up here and moving away, I knew I would come back to raise my family. There is something to be said for the small, friendly, family atmosphere. And its nice to see their love and support for the troops and veterans (being a Marine Corps wife). The town does an amazing job of wearing many hats- it strives to preserve history (after all, it is the oldest town in the state, and was the capital for a short while), it promotes tourism with festivals, and it keeps true to family traditions, What more could you look for in a place to live! Of course I could go into the beauty of the area with the surrounding Appalachian Mountains, but that is for another post.....

Jonesborough has been my home since 2005 when I retired from the military after 33+ years. In all the places I've lived, this town is by far the most patriotic. It isn't about a great 4th of July or speeches on Memorial Day, but every day this town lives our history and our country.
