Located in the lush rolling hills of south central Indiana, Bloomington is a progressive college town with a special charm that makes everyone feel right at home. From the peaceful forests to the vibrant downtown, Bloomington is filled with contradictions that somehow blend together to form an exceptional community. And with over 100 locally-owned, one-of-a-kind restaurants, Bloomington is a culinary delight. The abundance of fresh produce, meats, and herbs from local providers, combined with the talent of local chefs offers a wide variety of options. The diversity in cuisine types is a perfect example of how influential the university has been on the overall community. In one block alone you can find Thai, Italian, Tibetan and Ethiopian restaurants. There really is a wide variety of food types to suit all tastes, and no matter what time of day or night, you can find good food--and plenty of it--in Bloomington.

You will also find two award-winning wineries and two unbelievable breweries. Each winery provides a beautiful setting to sample unique wines, including some made from local grapes. The breweries also produce unique flavors, in beer and in cuisine (each facility houses a restaurant). You can also find select local beers and wines at area restaurants, so drink local and enjoy the flavors of Bloomington!

Bloomington is a party place for college kids.

The Bloomington Independent Restaurant Association includes Bloomington's most beloved restaurants that are all known for signature dishes. The ethnic diversity in this small town is amazing, and sure to please those with the most distinct palates.
