Gulfport, FL is a small beach community full of parks, piers, culture, and delicious dining. The colorful town is buzzing with activity from Fresh Markets every Tuesday showcasing fresh produce, breads, seafood, and condiments to Art Walks the first Friday and third Saturday of every month featuring musicians, artists, and food vendors.

Gulfport celebrates several annual festivals including Get Rescued supporting pet rescues in February, SpringFest highlighting local artists in March, a 4th of July parade, and a Labor Day street fair called Gecko Fest.

Visitors can mosey through the Clam Bayou Nature Preserve, take in the view from Williams Pier, or explore the historic Waterfront District’s varied shops and restaurants. Reviewers rave about Isabelle’s, O’Maddy’s, Tangelo’s and Neptune Grill to name a few.

Locals enjoy recreation at Skyway Fishing Pier and Egmont Key State Parks, let loose at the local Casino, and celebrate the arts in galleries along Beach Blvd. Be sure to visit the All Veterans Memorial Park, which pays tribute to veterans from each branch of the military.

Most fun, and fabulous food in Florida. Love the Fish and Chips at the Pub, Cubans at Tangelo's and Breakfast at Stellas. Gulfport is a 5 star town.

Gulfport has gone from a sleepy fishing village to a visitor's dream of color with warm and hospitable people. Complete with artists, musicians, writers and retirees who refuse to quit; Gulfport is a laid back community with citizen involvement in all aspects of its growth (or ungrowth, as the case may be ). Eclectic, receptive and entertaining is the fare on a First Friday or Third Saturday. The Spring Fest, Taste of, Fourth of July and Gecko Fest are just a few of the many celebrated events attended by visitors and locals alike.

I had no idea that there were any friendly, cute, walkable towns left in Florida. I was so surprised by Gulfport that I bought a house there within three months of my first visit! It's a charming town with great food, reasonable prices, and friendly people.
