Sandpoint, ID has an overwhelming view from the Long Bridge into town with Schweitzer Mountains creating the backdrop and Lake Pend Oreille perfectly supplementing the setting. A 43-mile long, glaciated body of water, Pend Oreille, is the fifth deepest lake in the U.S. with 111 miles of shoreline. Its pristine waters are a major factor in the community of Sandpoint’s high ranking as a premier tourist destination. Visitors can take a ski lift up 6,800 feet for the majestic view or try a boat cruise down below.

The area offers plenty of outdoor activities from skiing and boating to biking or hiking. Attractions include the Cedar Street Bridge Public Market, Silverwood Theme Park, Boulder Beach Waterpark, and Farrugat State Park. Visitors can also enjoy the Bonner County Museum or the Panida Theater.

For avid golfers, Sandpoint is an ideal destination. Sandpoint and the surrounding area boast numerous courses and a wide range of course options. Nearby hotels offer affordable “stay and play” packages.

A lake for Summer fun, by a mountain for both Summer and Winter fun. Clean air, friendly people, good food. When my Mother had to move from Sandpoint, she said it was the first time since childhood that she felt like she was "... moving away from home.".

I lived in Sandpoint for five years, and I have to say that even though I had "gotten used to living there" I never got used to the beauty. Every time I droe across the long bridge, I would find myself marveling at its beauty. Road trips were always fun, because in every direction, there is beauty to behold. It is breathtaking year round and I miss it very much!

The winters in Idaho are tough, but the scenery, wildlife and outdoor sports more than make up for it. Sandpoint is a beautiful small town on Lake Pend Oreille, The beauty of the lake and surrounding mountains and forests is breathtaking. The small town is very quaint with some great local shopping and very friendly people. Sandpoint's City Beach and Schweitzer Mountain resort are must see attractions as well as the Hope area.
