Description

Webster Springs is a rural town so small the locals consider each other family. Most of the town’s features are found on a single street and its claim to fame is the original Custard Stand.

This hometown grub hub is famous for its chili hot dogs producing about 4,000 pounds of chili a day. The eatery also offers 50 flavors of ice cream and promises to treat everyone who comes through the door like family.

The local owners are proud of their town’s “beautiful downtown streets and small community feel.” The Fun Finders were impressed with this close community’s sense of pride and designated Webster Springs a quaint hunting town.

You must come to Webster Springs and try a chili dog at The Custard Stand! The chili is a century-old secret family recipe and tastes like heaven on a steamed bun. The wieners simmer in the chili to make the dog even more delicious. Add the homemade slaw and you'll be addicted. But never fear, Custard Stand Hot Dog Chili and Chili with Beef and Beans is available in 13 states in stores such as Walmart, Sam's Club, Kroger and independent retailers. Dee and Angie Cowger also own Carpenter 5&10 in Webster Springs, an old-fashion general store with supplies from yesterday and those you need today! The Cowgers also own The Custard Stand at Flatwoods, WV.

Great small town, friendly people, with wonderful places to eat like Custard Stand. They have some of the best chilli around. I am glad it is sold at my local Foodland store for me to enjoy anytime.

Webster County is an absolutley beautiful place to visit. While out enjoying our scenery, a must try place is The Custard Stand. The Custard Stand employees are wonderful friendly people, who work hard to give you fast and speedy service. While there you have to try the homemade hot dog chili and one of their wide varities of milkshakes or ice cream.
