I have travelled the world and have seen many beautiful places and we have a magical city in our backyard known as Asheville. Asheville is astoundingly beautiful from the unique shops, food, and culture of the city to the rich history and picturesque landscapes that surround its locale. Asheville is quite incredible and it is hard not to enjoy one's self any time of year as there is always something going on inside and out and around and about Asheville.

Asheville is a wonderful town! There is so much to do, including the Biltmore Estate, the NC Arboretum, the River Arts District, tons of great restaurants, Mt. Mitchell just a bit north (highest elevation east of the Mississippi River), hiking trails galore, Chimney Rock just south, and, of course, the Blue Ridge Parkway. I love Asheville!

The downtown area of Asheville is so alive with microbreweries, bars, ale shops, wine bars, local stores, and restaurants! The surrounding area is rich with beautiful scenery and cultural, art, and outdoor activities. I've visited there three times the last three months and I haven't made a dent in all there is to do, see, eat, and drink.

Most diversity of any town it's size in America. A metropolitan downtown with an Appalachian spirirt and hospitality. Beautiful place to live. There are so many things to do during the week and on the weekend, that it's often really hard to make a decision on what's the best option. So many festivals involving music, food, culture, etc. I vote Asheville #1 for 4 out of the 5 catagories below.
