Description

In its second year running for Best for Food, Burnsville brought us back to the Mediterranean Cruise Café and Burger Jones for their favorite local fare, and introduced our team to even more digs, namely Chianti, Porter Creek and Rack Shack, where our judges were surprised at Minnesota’s offerings.

Chianti Grill features fine Italian dining, wine pairings and Sunday brunch; Porter Creek Hardwood Grill boasts a contemporary, rustic feel with an outdoor patio and enough food our judges visited twice; and Rack Shack is the locals favorite BBQ joint with giant servings of ribs, brisket and pulled pork.

After potentially overeating, follow our lead and burn it off on the water. Burnsville’s lakes offer boating, jet skiing and taking in the outdoors, in addition to Nicollet Commons Park where many town events are held, are golf, and ice-skating at Burnsville Ice Center. Attend Burnsville Fire Muster, Art and All That Jazz, International Festival and the Heart of the City Half Marathon annually.

Proximity to Minneapolis offers art, museums and athletics nearby. See a Timberwolves, Twins or Vikings game while in town or plan for NASCAR or horseracing. Also find theaters, a zoo, and a variety of shopping in the area. For more of what to do in Burnsville, view locals' reviews.

In response to 'bluff caller' - I'm not sure where you were looking that you only found the chain restaurants, but you missed out on so many fine dining experiences. Next time try asking locals where a good place to eat is.

From Med Cruise to Porter Creek to El Lora to Guiseppes, Morgans, Nina's, the Rib Shack, Stefanos, Jo Jo's. One of a kind places are the new norm of Burnsville. Great food and shows like Man versus Food are taking notice.

Burnsville is a fine suburb, but it is virtually indistinguishable from every other suburb. Most of the restaurants are chain restaurants--nothing wrong with that, but to suggest Burnsville and Santa Fe are in the same culinary league, give me a freaking break. What a joke.
Someone is behind all of these positive comments. No way it's legit. No way.

We visit The Roasted Pear at least once a week. The staff is amazing and the food is great.
