Cocoa Beach, Florida

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Cocoa Beach.
We got the Wine and Dine package, which included a King room with an oceanview, wine and cheese delivered to the room one night and a dinner for two at the restaurant at the Courtyard next door. Our room was on the 8th floor and had a great view facing southeast so we could see the beach and also the south part of Cocoa Beach. There is a condo on the road in front of the hotel which blocks the view a little but it's not bad.
The housekeeping at the hotel was excellent. We had plenty of towels and they made up the room each day and even made a towel animal like they do on cruiseships. A nice touch. There was free continental (plus) breakfast, and coffee was available 24 hours. They also had free internet service in the lobby and free highspeed wireless in the room.
The pool was nice and there were always a couple of rafts floating around for the guests. My only complaint there was the tiny, tiny pool towels. You need one for each leg. The beach is a short walk across a walkway (you don't have to cross any roads).
The hotel is about half a mile south of Ron Jon Surf Shop and there is a Wendys and a Taco Bell within walking distance.
We spent a lot of time near the port eating at Grills and Fishlips. Both were great but we liked the food (and the mojitos) a little better at Fishlips. Grills has a 10% off coupon on their website that you can print out and bring along. Fishlips will also give you 10% off the food (but not the drinks) if you show them your hotel room key. We watched the cruise ships leave port from the restaurants and that was very neat.
We made a stop at Jetty Park because I wanted to see if I could see the Cape Canaveral lighthouse from the fishing pier. We could see it and we also saw tons of sea turtles swimming around the rocks of the jetty. We even saw a manatee swim by. Later we saw two manatees on the other side of the jetty (the beach side). All you could see was their noses
