Truly a patriotic town. They even used to have the road centerline on Main Street painted red, white, and blue. The USO show is fantastic, and the Veterans Memorial is beautiful. Wonderful history; wonderful town.

I have lived near Jonesborough, TN for 12 years. It is patriotic all 4 seasons of the year. I love it's flag draped light posts and the true American spirit!

My husband and I chose to get married in downtown Jonesborough. The history, atmosphere and people make it such a welcoming town. Our wedding was on Memorial Day weekend. All the guests thought the town was decorated for the holiday weekend. We told everyone Jonesborough flies the colors 24/7, 365!

Having lived in Jonesborough for the last five years and moving to progressively smaller communities over the last 30 years I have to say that Jonesborough is the best place I have ever lived. The town and residents actually love and value its heritage. The people here celebrate the history and show such pride in where we have come from and where we are today. I feel very blessed to live and work in the oldest town in Tennessee.

In 1999 the Jonesborough Board of Mayor and Alderman Commissioned the Town Veterans Affairs Committee to design and build the Jonesborough Veterans Park. During the years since, the Veterans Park has evolved into a memorial to the military veterans from Washington County from the Revolutionary War to the present day. The Park includes a solid granite water feature , five military service flags, the POW/MIA flag and over fifteen hundred granite bricks purchased by veterans' families. The Town of Jonesborough was the first entity in East Tennessee to build a park honoring all its veterans. Marion Light; Chair Jonesborough Veterans Affairs Committee
