We are the hometown of Helen Richey - the first commercially licensed female pilot, bullfighter Bette Ford, 2 Olympic gold medalists - Rick Krivda & Swin Cash, screenwriter Bob Carroll, Jr., Miss America 1935 Henrietta Leaver, pianist Byron Janis, photographer Duane Michals, Lockheed Martin CEO Robert Stevens, State Senator Jim Brewster, football legends Russell Stuvaints & Mike Logan and actress Tamara Tunie. McKeesport has annual parades for Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Christmas. We are home to Renziehausen Park - a public park that hosts events such as little league, old timers league & high school baseball & softball games, annual Easter Egg Hunt, the Festival of Trees at Christmas time, Halloween Parade, First Day of Trout Season, Summer Concerts in the Park and International Village - a 3 day ethnic food and entertainment festival. Also located in Renzie Park are the Heritage Center and the Garden Clubs' Arboretum. Sure, we're an old steel town, but we're making our way back. We have recently refurbished the main street through downtown and we're building a fly-over ramp to make the industrial park more attractive and accessable to additional businesses that we hope will call McKeesport home. We have many other things to offer including being part of the Great Allegheny Passage, McKees Point Marina and Palisades Center for Performing Arts.
