Smithfield, North Carolina

Reviews

The Ava Gardner Museum located in Smithfield, NC is one of the most charming small museums around. The museum is dedicated to the hometown girl and Hollywood legend Ava Gardner's life and career. You will first see a movie on her life and then tour the exhibits that start with her growing up in eastern North Carolina and being discovered by MGM and her early career, marriages to Micky Rooney, Artie Shaw and Frank Sinatra, movie posters line the walls, awards and finally her life abroad in Spain and London. Very well done and worth a stop along I-95 in NC. Admission is $7.00 and the museum is open seven days a week.
